Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department is your local fire department, covering Apison, Collegedale, Ooltewah and the surrounding areas. We were founded in 1952 and have continued to grow with our community ever since. We now cover over 60 square miles and serve over 40,000 residents with more than 120 personnel responding from 5 stations. We respond to many types of calls including fires, vehicle extrications, technical rescues, and we provide non-transport, Medical First Response assistance for Hamilton County EMS. We are also members of the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association, offering and receiving mutual aid with dozens of communities.

Congratulations to the 2019 Recruit Class!

The “rookies” have put a lot of time and effort into their training and graduated from recruit school in April. We are excited to watch their journey continue as probationary firefighters!

Experience of a Lifetime!

Have you ever considered helping others? Maybe you already do on a normal basis?

Being a member of Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department gives you the opportunity to not only help your community but it also means that you will be there for someone in their greatest time of need.

  • When someone is running out of their burning house, you, as a Firefighter, are running into it.

  • When someone's Grandma is having trouble breathing, you, as a medical team member, are welcomed into a strangers' home to assist them.

Being part of Tri-Community is more than just a great opportunity to help your community, it also gives you an experience of a lifetime.

It's not for everyone but it may be for you!
